For  women to gain access and control over resources it is important that they learn to manage them. Unless women have managerial control over resources, they have de jure ownership rights, but the de facto rights will remain with men. The savings and credit program began as a ground for women to collectivise ,pool resources in the spirit of self help and  learn to manage them.

Today it has  reached  a point where  a simple SHG that rose against the money lender, is now federated across villages and is comparing itself to a women’s bank.
